Patios & Paving in Hull
Patios, paths and paved areas in Indian sandstone, porcelain, slab and block — set out to suit the space, laid on a proper base and built to stay level.
A good patio turns a garden into somewhere you actually use. We set them out to suit the space, lay them on a properly prepared base and get the falls right so they shed water and stay level for years — not just for the first summer.
Patio & paving materials
Indian sandstone
Warm, natural riven stone in mixed sizes — a classic, hard wearing patio finish.
Porcelain
Clean, modern and low maintenance, with a near-uniform finish and excellent stain resistance.
Natural stone & slab
Riven and smooth slabs in a range of colours to match the house and garden.
Block & setts
Block paving, cobbles and setts for patios, borders, edgings and feature areas.
More than just paving
Because we are groundworkers and hard landscapers, we handle the whole transformation, not just the slabs on top. Sloping or awkward gardens are no problem.
- Clearance, excavation and muck away to get back to solid ground
- Steps, terracing and structural retaining walls on sloping plots
- A compacted base, set falls and drainage so water runs away from the house
- Stone or slabs laid, cut, pointed and finished cleanly
- Edgings, borders, turfing and artificial grass to finish the garden off
You also get free, customised digital designs for patios and paving, so you can picture the finished garden before we lift a spade.

Patio FAQs
Common questions
What materials do you lay for patios?
Indian sandstone, porcelain, natural stone, riven and smooth slabs, and block paving. We will help you pick a material and finish that suits the garden, the house and your budget.
Can you build steps and retaining walls into a sloping garden?
Yes. We regularly turn awkward, sloping gardens into usable terraced space with steps, retaining walls and level paved areas. As groundworkers, the structural side is part of what we do.
Will the patio drain properly?
Yes. We set the falls so water runs away from the house, lay on a proper base and add drainage where it is needed, so you do not get standing water or movement later.
Do you clear the old patio and garden first?
Yes. We dig out and clear the existing surface, excavate to the right level and cart the spoil away, so the new patio is built on solid, prepared ground.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Hull and cover East Yorkshire, including Beverley, Anlaby, Cottingham, Willerby, Hessle and Kirk Ella, across the East Riding and out to York.
